About Us
The Fernwood Community and Arts Association (FCAA) is a neighbourhood-based charity that promotes and facilitates activities to enhance the quality of life and sense of connection and belonging for Fernwood and Victoria residents. For over 50 years, the FCAA has supported neighbourhood-led activities, fostered community engagement on development and redevelopment proposals and ensured that neighbourhood residents have a voice on all proposed public projects and plans.
The FCAA also has a mandate to support arts, culture and community gathering and operates Little Fernwood as a welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and affordable neighbourhood venue for arts, culture and community gathering.
1923 Fernwood Rd Heritage-Designated 2002
The FCAA is able to keep the Little Fernwood rental rates deeply affordable thanks to a long-term $1/year arrangement with the City of Victoria which has been in place for decades. This means that the FCAA can support a range of activities, events and classes from punk shows, to poetry readings, to support groups to crafting classes to movie nights to mom and baby yoga, and much more, with something for everyone.
The FCAA and Little Fernwood are also home to a resident arts group, the Pandora Arts Collective, a resident theatre company, Theatre Inconnu, the Sunflower Music School, and artists studios.
